📖 Clase (60 min)
Introducción y contexto
Has visto causativos (have/get something done, make/let/get sb to do) y modales perfectos (must/can't/might have, should(n't)/could have).
- Causativo: lo que hiciste hacer (I had the car serviced there).
- Modal perfecto de crítica: lo que debió pasar y no (They should have warned me).
- Modal perfecto de deducción: especular sobre causas (The mechanic must have rushed it).
Esta clase es de aplicación y síntesis; añadimos también la combinación más sofisticada: modal perfecto + causativo (I should have had it checked).
Explicación detallada (regla por regla)
Regla 1 — Causativo dentro de un modal perfecto: should/could/must + have + had/got + objeto + participio.
- I should have had the brakes checked. → Debería haber hecho revisar los frenos.
- They must have had the room cleaned by someone careless.
- You could have got it repaired under warranty. → Podrías haberlo hecho reparar con garantía.
Regla 2 — Queja con causativo + crítica:
- I had my suit dry-cleaned there and they ruined it. They shouldn't have used so much chemical. No deberían haber usado tanto producto.
- The food was cold. The kitchen must have been understaffed.
- They should have offered a refund. → Deberían haber ofrecido un reembolso.
- Customers needn't have waited so long if they had hired more staff.
- What disappointed me most was the service — and it was the manager's attitude that ruined it.
Regla 6 — Lenguaje funcional de review: Overall, On the plus side, On the downside, To be fair, I would (not) recommend, In my opinion, All in all.

Gramática a fondo
| Combinación | Estructura | Ejemplo |
|---|---|---|
| Modal + causativo | should/could/must + have + had + obj + part. | I should have had it checked. |
| Crítica de servicio | They shouldn't have + part. | They shouldn't have charged extra. |
| Deducción de causa | must/might have + been + adj | Staff must have been overwhelmed. |
| Recomendación retro | should have + part. | They should have apologised. |
| Énfasis (Sem. 45) | What… was… / It was… that… | What ruined it was the wait. |
- Orden en la combinación: modal + have + had/got + objeto + participio. Dos "have" no se juntan: should have had…
- get puede sustituir a had en informal: I should have got it fixed.
Pronunciación y notas de uso
- should have had → "shud-uv-had"; practícalo lentamente, es un trabalenguas habitual.
- Registro de review: semiformal; to be fair, on the downside son naturales en reseñas online y orales.
- Tono: una buena crítica equilibra negativo y positivo (To be fair, the food was good, but…).
Errores comunes del hispanohablante
- ✗ I should had it checked. → ✓ I should have had it checked. (falta el have del modal perfecto.)
- ✗ They should have warn me. → ✓ They should have warned me.
- ✗ I should have checked the car (queriendo: que un mecánico lo revisara) → ✓ I should have had the car checked.
- ✗ The staff must been tired. → ✓ The staff must have been tired.
- ✗ They didn't should refund. → ✓ They should have refunded (the money). / They shouldn't have refused a refund.
- ✗ What ruined it were the wait. → ✓ What ruined it was the wait. (concordancia singular, Sem. 45.)
Mini-diálogo de ejemplo
A: How was the hotel? (¿Qué tal el hotel?) B: Honestly, disappointing. We had a sea-view room booked, but they gave us a worse one. (Sinceramente, decepcionante. A: Did you complain? (¿Te quejaste?) B: Yes. They should have offered an upgrade, but they didn't. The staff must have been new — they seemed lost. A: That's poor service. (Eso es mal servicio.) B: Exactly. What annoyed me most was that I could have got a refund elsewhere. All in all, I wouldn't recommend it. (Exacto.
