📖 Clase (60 min)
Introducción y contexto
Ayer dedujiste el pasado (must/can't/might have).
- I should have studied harder. → Debería haber estudiado más. (arrepentimiento)
- You shouldn't have said that. → No deberías haber dicho eso. (crítica)
- They could have warned us.
- I should have called you. I'm sorry. → Debería haberte llamado. Lo siento.
- We should have left earlier. → Deberíamos habernos ido antes.
Regla 2 — shouldn't have + participio = se hizo algo que estuvo mal (crítica/lamento).
- You shouldn't have spent so much. → No deberías haber gastado tanto.
- I shouldn't have eaten that. → No debería haber comido eso.
Regla 3 — ought to have + participio = sinónimo formal de should have.
- He ought to have apologised. → Debería haberse disculpado.
Regla 4 — could have + participio (reproche) = tenías la posibilidad y no lo hiciste.
- You could have told me! → ¡Podrías habérmelo dicho!
- They could have helped, but they didn't.
- You needn't have cooked — we ate already.
- I didn't need to pay — entry was free. → No tuve que pagar (no pagué).
Regla 6 — was/were supposed to + infinitivo = expectativa incumplida.
- You were supposed to call me yesterday. → Se suponía que ibas a llamarme ayer.
