📖 Clase (60 min)
Regla 1 — El asunto (Subject line). Específico y accionable, sin punto final. Mayúscula tipo título o solo inicial:
- ✗ Hello / Information (vago).
- ✓ Meeting request: Q3 budget review / Invoice #4521 – payment confirmation.
Regla 2 — El saludo (Salutation).
- Dear Sir or Madam, / To whom it may concern, → no conoces el nombre (muy formal).
UU.).
Regla 3 — Línea de apertura. Justifica el contacto en una frase:
- I am writing to enquire about... → Le escribo para informarme sobre...
- I am writing with regard to... → Le escribo en relación con...
- Thank you for your email of 12 May. → respuesta.
- I am writing to follow up on our conversation. → seguimiento.
- Further to your message,... → En relación con su mensaje,...
✗ I am writing you because... → ✓ I am writing to you because... (o mejor: I am writing to + verbo).
Regla 4 — El cuerpo.
- Para pedir: I would be grateful if you could... / Could you please...?
- Para informar: I would like to inform you that... / Please note that...
- Para adjuntar: Please find attached... / I have attached...
- Para disculparse: I apologise for the delay / for any inconvenience caused.
Regla 5 — Líneas de cierre (penúltimo párrafo).
- I look forward to hearing from you. → Quedo a la espera de su respuesta.
- Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. → No dude en contactarme...
- Thank you in advance for your help. → Gracias de antemano.
Regla 6 — La despedida (Sign-off). Debe concordar con el saludo:
| Saludo | Despedida |
|---|---|
| Dear Sir or Madam, / To whom it may concern, | Yours faithfully, (UK) |
| Dear Mr./Ms. + apellido, | Yours sincerely, (UK) / Sincerely, (US) |
| Dear/Hi + nombre, | Best regards, / Kind regards, |
| Informal-profesional | Best, / Regards, |

- ✗ I am writing you for ask... → ✓ I am writing to ask...
- ✗ I wait your answer. → ✓ I look forward to hearing from you.
- ✗ Yours faithfully, ... Dear Ms. Lee (no concuerdan) → ✓ Dear Ms. Lee, ... Yours sincerely,
- ✗ Attached you can find... (calco) → ✓ Please find attached... / I have attached...
- ✗ Greetings, como cierre profesional → ✓ Kind regards, / Best regards,
- ✗ Empezar con How are you? I hope your family is well. en un email formal de trabajo → mejor ir al asunto tras una línea breve.
