📖 Clase (60 min)
El inglés tiene un abanico amplio: In my opinion, I believe, If you ask me, As far as I'm concerned, Personally... Y, muy importante, el inglés valora el hedging: suavizar la opinión para no sonar agresivo (I guess, kind of, I'm not sure but...). Dominar esto te hará sonar educado y natural, no brusco.
Explicación detallada (regla por regla)
Regla 1 — Fórmulas para dar opinión. Todas van seguidas de una frase normal:
- I think (that)... → Creo que... (la más común): I think that this is a good idea.
- In my opinion,... → En mi opinión,...: In my opinion, prices are too high.
- I believe (that)... → Creo / opino que... (algo más fuerte): I believe education is essential.
- If you ask me,... → Si me preguntas,... (informal): If you ask me, it's a waste of time.
- As far as I'm concerned,... → Por lo que a mí respecta,...: As far as I'm concerned, it's fine.
- Personally,... → Personalmente,...: Personally, I prefer tea.
- From my point of view,... → Desde mi punto de vista,...
Cuidado con la coma: In my opinion,* ... / Personally**,** ...* llevan coma después.
Regla 2 — Pedir la opinión de alguien.
- What do you think (about/of...)? → ¿Qué piensas (de...)?
- What's your opinion on...? → ¿Cuál es tu opinión sobre...?
- How do you feel about...? → ¿Cómo te sientes respecto a...?
- Do you agree (that...)? → ¿Estás de acuerdo (en que...)?
✗ What do you think about of it? → ✓ What do you think about it? / What do you think of it?
Regla 3 — Opiniones fuertes vs. suaves (hedging).
- Fuerte: I'm sure that... / I'm certain... / There's no doubt that... / Definitely.
- Suave (hedging): I guess... / Maybe... / I suppose... / It seems that... / kind of / sort of / I'm not sure, but...
El hedging es muy británico/educado: I guess it could be a problem suena más amable que It is a problem.
Regla 4 — Reaccionar a una opinión.
- Acuerdo: I agree. / That's true. / Exactly. / You're right. / I think so too.
- Acuerdo parcial: I see your point, but... / That's partly true, however...
- Desacuerdo educado: I'm not sure about that. / I see it differently. / I'm afraid I disagree. / I don't really think so.
✗ I am agree. → ✓ I agree. (agree es verbo, no adjetivo) ✗ I am not agree. → ✓ I don't agree. / I disagree.
Regla 5 — agree + preposición. agree with somebody (estar de acuerdo con alguien), agree on/about something (algo), agree to a plan (aceptar un plan).
- ✗ I agree with that the film is good. → ✓ I agree that the film is good.
