🎯 Objetivo del día

• Al terminar sabrás reportar órdenes y peticiones con tell / ask someone (not) to do.
• Reportarás consejos con advise / recommend / suggest.
• Dominarás los cambios de tiempo y lugar: now→then, today→that day, here→there, this→that.
• Cambiarás demostrativos y adverbios al reportar.
• Integrarás afirmaciones, preguntas y órdenes en un mismo informe.

📖 Clase (60 min)

Introducción y contexto

Ya sabes reportar afirmaciones (She said she was tired) y preguntas (He asked where I lived). Falta el tercer tipo: las órdenes, peticiones e instrucciones ("Close the door", "Please help me", "Don't be late"). Para estas usamos una estructura muy elegante y simple: tell / ask + persona + (not) to + infinitivo.

Además, hoy completamos el sistema con un detalle que da naturalidad: los cambios de tiempo y lugar. Si alguien dijo "I'll do it tomorrow" y lo reportas días después, tomorrow ya no tiene sentido: cambia a the next day. Igual con here → there, this → that, now → then. Estos ajustes hacen que tu informe sea lógico y coherente.

Con la clase de hoy tendrás el estilo indirecto completo: las tres modalidades de oración y todos los ajustes.

Explicación detallada (regla por regla)

Regla 1 — Órdenes y peticiones: tell/ask + persona + to + infinitivo.

• Orden: "Close the door." → He told me to close the door.
• Petición: "Please help me." → She asked me to help her.
• Instrucción: "Wait here." → He told us to wait there.

Regla 2 — Negativo: not to + infinitivo.

• "Don't be late." → She told me not to be late.
• "Please don't smoke." → He asked us not to smoke.

¡Importante! La negación va con not to, NO con to not ni con don't:

• ✗ He told me to not be late. (poco natural)
• ✗ He told me don't be late. (incorrecto)
• ✓ He told me not to be late.

Regla 3 — tell (orden) vs. ask (petición).

• tell + persona + to → orden, instrucción (más directo).
• ask + persona + to → petición educada (please).

Regla 4 — Consejos: advise / recommend / suggest.

• advise + persona + to: The doctor advised me to rest.
• recommend + -ing: She recommended visiting the museum.
• suggest + -ing / that: He suggested taking a taxi. / He suggested that we take a taxi.

Ojo: ✗ suggest me to / ✗ recommend me to → estos verbos NO usan + persona + to.

Regla 5 — Cambios de tiempo y lugar (cuando el contexto lo exige).

Ejemplo completo: "I'll meet you here tomorrow." → She said she would meet me there the next day.

Regla 6 — No siempre cambian. Si reportas el mismo día y en el mismo lugar, today, here, this pueden quedarse: "I'm busy today." (dicho hoy) → She said she's busy today. El cambio depende del contexto real, no es automático.
