• Integrar lugar, movimiento e indicaciones en una descripción coherente.

📖 Clase (60 min)

Introducción y contexto

Hoy cierras el contenido nuevo de la semana describiendo dónde vives. Es un tema de examen y de conversación constante ("Where are you from? What's your city like?"). Reunirás el vocabulario de lugares, las preposiciones de los Días 148–149 y los adjetivos para opinar. Mañana lo usarás todo en el proyecto de la semana.

Explicación detallada

1. Lugares y servicios de la ciudad.

• town hall (ayuntamiento), library (biblioteca), museum (museo), hospital, post office (oficina de correos), police station (comisaría), bank, cinema (cine), theatre (teatro), stadium, market, park, square (plaza), church, bus station, car park (aparcamiento), playground (zona de juegos), gym, shopping centre.

2. Describir con there is/are + preposición.

• There's a park near my house. (Hay un parque cerca de mi casa.)
• There are two supermarkets in my neighbourhood. (Hay dos súper en mi barrio.)
• There isn't a cinema in my town. (No hay cine en mi pueblo.)
• Is there a hospital near here? (¿Hay un hospital cerca?)

Combina con preposiciones: The library is opposite the park. There's a café next to the station.

3. Adjetivos para opinar sobre una ciudad.

• My city is lively but a bit polluted. (Mi ciudad es animada pero algo contaminada.)

Pronunciación y notas de uso

• neighbourhood /néiborjud/ — la gh es muda; ojo a la ortografía británica (-our-).
• library /láibreri/ — no "li-bra-ri" a la española; "lái-bre-ri".
• museum /miusíiem/ — acento en la segunda sílaba: mu-SÍ-em.
• quiet /kuáiet/ — dos sílabas; no confundir con quite /kuáit/ (bastante).
• outskirts /áutskerts/ — siempre en plural.
