Introducción y contexto

Ya sabes formar superlativos. Hoy aprendes a preguntar con ellos, que es como realmente aparecen en conversación: What's the best restaurant near here? Who's the tallest in your family? Which is the most popular? También verás cómo combinar comparativo y superlativo de forma natural en una respuesta, y una estructura idiomática muy útil: the more..., the better... ("cuanto más..., mejor..."). Con esto cierras la parte gramatical de los superlativos y te preparas para usarlos en debate y opinión.

Explicación detallada (regla por regla)

1. Preguntas con superlativo: What / Which / Who + be + the + superlativo...?

• What's the biggest city in your country? — Madrid is.
• Who's the tallest in your family? — My brother is.
• Which is the most popular app? — Probably WhatsApp.
• What was the best day of your life? — My wedding day.

2. What vs. Which:

• What → grupo abierto/sin lista: What's the best film of the year?
• Which → elección entre opciones concretas: Which is the cheapest, A, B or C?

3. Respuestas combinando comparativo y superlativo:

• Madrid is the biggest, but Barcelona is more popular with tourists.
• This one is the cheapest, and it's also better than the others.

4. the + comparativo, the + comparativo = "cuanto más..., más/mejor...".

• The bigger the house, the more expensive it is. (Cuanto más grande la casa, más cara es.)
• The more you practise, the better you get. (Cuanto más practicas, mejor te vuelves.)
• The sooner, the better. (Cuanto antes, mejor.) — expresión fija muy usada.

5. by far + superlativo = "con diferencia el más...".

• It's by far the best option. (Es con diferencia la mejor opción.)
• She's by far the most talented in the group.

Pronunciación y notas de uso

• What's the...? se contrae y suena rápido: "uáts-de".
• by far enfatiza mucho; colócalo antes del superlativo: by far the best.
• the sooner, the better / the more, the merrier son frases hechas: apréndelas como bloque.
