📖 Clase (60 min)
1. Desacuerdo suavizado (la fórmula "sí, pero"). Primero reconoce, luego discrepa:
- I see your point, but… / I take your point, however… / That's a fair point, although…
- I'm not sure I entirely agree. / I'm afraid I see it differently. / I'd have to disagree there, I think.
- Evita el seco No, you're wrong. → ✓ I'm not sure that's quite right.
2. Disclaimers / preludios. Anuncian la crítica para amortiguarla:
- Don't take this the wrong way, but… / With respect,… / I might be wrong, but… / Correct me if I'm wrong, but… / If you don't mind me saying,…
3. Críticas envueltas. Sustituye lo negativo por lo "mejorable":
- ✗ Your report is bad. → ✓ The report could be a little stronger in places. / There's room for improvement in the data section.
- Usa not quite, a bit, slightly, perhaps: It's not quite what we were looking for.
4. Preguntas negativas y question tags para suavizar.
- Wouldn't it be better to wait? / Don't you think we should check first? / We could revise it, couldn't we?
5. Pasado y modales de distancia (cortesía). El pasado y would/could crean distancia educada:
- I was hoping you could help. / I was wondering if you'd reconsider. / It would be helpful if… / You might want to consider… (sugerencia muy suave).
6. Malas noticias y rechazo con tacto.
- I'm afraid… / Unfortunately,… / I appreciate the offer, but… / That sounds great in principle, however… / I'd love to, but I'm afraid I can't.
- Cierra siempre con algo constructivo: Perhaps we could find another way.

Colleague: You think it's too soon? (¿Crees que es demasiado pronto?) You: I might be wrong, but a short delay could save us some headaches. Perhaps we could aim for the following Monday?
