Introducción y contexto

Ayer vimos collocations verbo + sustantivo. Hoy completamos el panorama con dos tipos que disparan tu naturalidad: adjetivo + sustantivo y adverbio + adjetivo. El inglés no usa un único intensificador para todo (como el español "muy" o "fuerte"): cada sustantivo "elige" sus adjetivos preferidos. Decir strong rain no es un error gramatical, pero ningún nativo lo dice: es heavy rain. Dominar esto distingue un C1 de un B2.

Explicación detallada (regla por regla)

1. Adjetivo + sustantivo: cada uno tiene su pareja.

2. Adverbio + adjetivo: el intensificador correcto.

3. Regla práctica: evita very genérico. En C1, en vez de very tired di utterly exhausted; en vez de very cold di bitterly/freezing cold; en vez de very important di crucial/vital. Subir el nivel léxico = subir tu banda.

4. No son intercambiables. deeply happy no se dice (se dice extremely/ genuinely happy); highly sorry no existe (deeply sorry). Hay que memorizar las parejas, como con los idioms.
