📖 Clase (60 min)
Compara: I have a friend. My friend lives in Canada. → I have a friend who lives in Canada.
El inglés diferencia según sea persona (who), cosa/animal (which) o el comodín informal that.
- The woman who lives next door is a doctor.
- The book which I bought was expensive. → El libro que compré era caro.
Regla 2 — who = personas.
- The man who called you is my boss.
- I know a girl who speaks five languages.
Regla 3 — which = cosas y animales.
- This is the phone which broke yesterday.
- I have a dog which never barks. → Tengo un perro que nunca ladra.
Regla 4 — that = personas O cosas (informal, muy común).
- The man that called you… / The phone that broke…
- that es preferido tras superlativos, all, everything, the only, the first: the best film that I've seen, everything that happened.
- ✓ The man who lives here… ✗ The man who he lives here…
- ✓ The car which broke down… ✗ The car which it broke down…
Regla 6 — Cómo unir dos frases (método).
- Identifica el sustantivo repetido.
- Sustituye la repetición por who (persona) o which/that (cosa).
I have a friend. + My friend works in Japan. → I have a friend who works in Japan.

| Cosa / animal | which (o that) | The app which crashed… |
| Persona o cosa (informal) | that | The thing that annoys me… |
| Tras superlativo / all / only / first | that (preferido) | the best song that I know |
|---|---|---|
| Sujeto | who/which/that + verbo | The man who came… |
| (Objeto — lo vemos el día 4) | who(m)/which/that + sujeto + verbo | The man (who) I met… |
- En habla informal, that sustituye a who/which muy a menudo: the guy that called me.
Errores comunes del hispanohablante
- ✗ The man who he lives here. → ✓ The man who lives here. (no repetir sujeto)
- ✗ The book who I read. → ✓ The book which/that I read. (who solo personas)
- ✗ The woman which works here. → ✓ The woman who/that works here.
- ✗ Is the person which called. → ✓ It's the person who called.
- ✗ People that they are kind. → ✓ People who are kind.
- ✗ Omitir el relativo cuando es sujeto: The man came is my boss. → ✓ The man who came is my boss.
Mini-diálogo de ejemplo
