📖 Clase (60 min)
Regla 1 — Contable vs. incontable manda.
- many / a few / few + sustantivo contable plural: many books, a few friends.
- much / a little / little + sustantivo incontable: much water, a little time.
- a lot of / lots of / plenty of / some / any / enough / no → con ambos.
Regla 2 — much/many vs. a lot of: registro y tipo de frase.
- En negativas y preguntas preferimos much/many: I don't have much money. · Are there many people?
- En afirmativas preferimos a lot of / lots of: I have a lot of friends. (✗ I have many friends suena formal/raro en habla informal).
- much en afirmativa suena formal: There is much to discuss (formal). Informal: a lot to discuss.
Regla 3 — a few vs. few (contables).
- a few = unos pocos (suficientes, positivo): I have a few friends here. (tengo algunos, está bien)
- few = pocos (casi ninguno, negativo): I have few friends here. (casi ninguno, me siento solo)
Regla 4 — a little vs. little (incontables).
- a little = un poco (positivo): There's a little milk left. (queda algo, suficiente)
- little = poco (escaso, negativo): There's little hope. (apenas hay esperanza)
Regla 5 — Otros cuantificadores útiles.
- plenty of = de sobra: We have plenty of time.
- hardly any = casi nada/ninguno: There's hardly any water.
- too much / too many = demasiado/-s (negativo): too much salt, too many cars.
- enough = suficiente: enough money, enough chairs.
- several = varios: several countries.
- a great deal of / a huge amount of = gran cantidad (incontable, formal).
Regla 6 — how much / how many en preguntas.
- How much water do we need? (incontable)
- How many people came? (contable)
