📖 Clase (60 min)

Introducción y contexto

Cerramos las clases de la semana con la función comunicativa más rica del futuro: predecir y especular con matices. No es lo mismo decir "the climate will change" (seguro) que "robots might replace some jobs" (posible) o "AI will probably transform education" (probable). Saber graduar tu certeza te hace sonar reflexivo y preciso, justo lo que se valora en exámenes orales y debates B1/B2. Hoy integramos will, going to, might y los adverbios de probabilidad, y aprendemos a justificar lo que predecimos.

Explicación detallada (regla por regla)

Regla 1 — Grados de certeza.

Regla 2 — Posición de probably / definitely / certainly.

• En afirmativa, después de will: She will probably come.
• En negativa, antes de won't: She probably won't come.

Regla 3 — might / may / could para posibilidad.

• It might rain later. → Quizás llueva luego.
• Prices could rise next year. → Los precios podrían subir.
• (No llevan -s ni to: it might rain, no it might to rain / mights.)

Regla 4 — be going to para predicción con evidencia.

• Look at the data — the economy is going to recover. → Mira los datos: la economía va a recuperarse.

Regla 5 — Justificar la predicción (conectores de causa/consecuencia).

• I think AI will grow because it's improving fast.
• The population is rising, so food will become more expensive.
• Since people travel more, languages will be more important.

Regla 6 — Frases para opinar.

• I think / I believe / I reckon + will…
• In my opinion, … will probably …
• I'm (not) sure if … will …
• It's likely/unlikely that … will …

Pronunciación y notas de uso

• probably /ˈprɒbəbli/ — a menudo reducido a "próbli" en habla rápida.
• definitely /ˈdefɪnətli/ → "définitli" (no "defi-night-ly").
• might / may / could + base sin to; entonación más dubitativa.
• I reckon es muy británico e informal; en examen escrito usa I think / In my opinion.

Errores comunes del hispanohablante

• ✗ She will probably not come (orden) → aceptable, pero más natural She probably won't come.
• ✗ It mights happen. → ✓ It might happen.
