📖 Clase (60 min)

Introducción y contexto

Ya construyes afirmaciones condicionales. Para conversar necesitas preguntar: "¿Qué harás si llueve?", "¿Vendrás si te invito?". Estas preguntas son extremadamente comunes para planificar con otra persona, tomar decisiones conjuntas o explorar posibilidades. La buena noticia: la cláusula if no cambia; solo convertimos en pregunta la parte del resultado (la de will).

Explicación detallada (regla por regla)

Regla 1 — La cláusula if NO se invierte; se interroga el resultado.

WH + will + sujeto + verbo + if + presente simple?

• What will you do if it rains? → ¿Qué harás si llueve?
• Where will you go if the shop is closed? → ¿A dónde irás si la tienda está cerrada?
• Who will you call if you need help? → ¿A quién llamarás si necesitas ayuda?

La parte if + presente se queda igual que en una afirmación.

Regla 2 — Pregunta Yes/No: Will + sujeto + verbo + if…?

• Will you call me if you arrive late? → ¿Me llamarás si llegas tarde?
• Will they help us if we ask? → ¿Nos ayudarán si lo pedimos?

Regla 3 — Respuestas cortas.

Yes, sujeto + will. · No, sujeto + won't.

• Will you call me? → Yes, I will. / No, I won't.
• Will they help? → Yes, they will. / No, they won't.
• ✗ Yes, I will call you. (respuesta corta = solo Yes, I will.)

Regla 4 — La cláusula if también puede ir delante en la pregunta.

• If it rains, what will you do? → Si llueve, ¿qué harás?
• If you fail, will you try again? → Si suspendes, ¿lo intentarás otra vez?

Cuando if va delante, lleva coma y luego la pregunta.

Regla 5 — Variantes del resultado en la pregunta.

• Can you come if I invite you? → ¿Puedes venir si te invito?
• What might happen if we don't hurry? → ¿Qué podría pasar si no nos damos prisa?

• Will you se enlaza: /wɪl‿juː/ → suena "wil-yu".
• What will you rápido: /wɒt wɪl jə/.
• En Yes/No la entonación sube ↗ (Will you cóme?); en WH baja ↘ (What will you dó?).
• won't /wəʊnt/ — no lo confundas con want /wɒnt/.
