📖 Clase (60 min)
If + presente simple, will + verbo base.
- If it rains, I will stay at home. → Si llueve, me quedaré en casa.
- If you study, you will pass. → Si estudias, aprobarás.
- If she calls, I will answer. → Si llama, contestaré.
Regla 2 — La condición SIEMPRE en presente, nunca en will.
- ✗ If it will rain, I will stay home.
- ✓ If it rains, I will stay home.
Esta es la regla de oro. La parte del if describe la condición (presente); la otra parte describe el resultado (will).
Regla 3 — Contracción 'll.
- I**'ll** call you. · She**'ll** be late. · They**'ll** help.
- I'll = I will · won't = will not.
Regla 4 — Negativo en cualquiera de las dos partes.
- If you don't hurry, you will miss the bus. → Si no te das prisa, perderás el autobús.
- If it rains, we won't go to the beach. → Si llueve, no iremos a la playa.
- If you don't study, you won't pass. → Si no estudias, no aprobarás.
Regla 5 — Uso: situaciones reales y posibles del futuro.
Es probable o al menos posible que la condición se cumpla:
- If I have time, I will help you. → Si tengo tiempo, te ayudaré. (es posible que tenga tiempo)
Compara (lo verás en semanas futuras): el segundo condicional sería para algo hipotético/improbable: If I had time, I would help you. Hoy nos quedamos solo con el primero.

Gramática a fondo
| Parte | Tiempo | Ejemplo |
|---|---|---|
| Cláusula if (condición) | presente simple | If you study, |
| Cláusula principal (resultado) | will + base | you will pass. |
Tabla afirmativo/negativo:
| Frase | If (presente) | Resultado (will) |
|---|---|---|
| If it rains, I won't go out. | rains | won't go |
| If you don't hurry, you will miss it. | don't hurry | will miss |
| If she calls, I'll answer. | calls | 'll answer |
| If we don't leave now, we won't arrive on time. | don't leave | won't arrive |
Recuerda: la condición lleva la -s de tercera persona en presente: If he studies, he will pass.
- Pausa (coma) cuando if va primero: If it rains, | I'll stay.
Errores comunes del hispanohablante
- ✗ If it will rain, I will stay. → ✓ If it rains, I will stay. (if + presente)
- ✗ If you will study, you will pass. → ✓ If you study, you will pass.
- ✗ If he study, he will pass. → ✓ If he studies, he will pass. (-s 3ª persona)
- ✗ I will stay if it rain. → ✓ I will stay if it rains.
- ✗ If you don't hurry, you will lose the bus. → ✓ ... you will miss the bus. (perder un transporte = miss)
- ✗ Confundir won't /wəʊnt/ con want /wɒnt/.
Mini-diálogo de ejemplo
A: Are you coming to the park tomorrow? (¿Vienes al parque mañana?) B: If the weather is good, I will come. (Si hace buen tiempo, vendré.) A: And if it rains? (¿Y si llueve?) B: Then I won't go. We will meet another day. (Entonces no iré. Quedaremos otro día.) A: OK. If you don't come, I will call you. (Vale. Si no vienes, te llamaré.) B: Perfect. If I 'm free, we 'll have coffee instead.
