Al terminar podrás:
- Formar el superlativo de adjetivos cortos con the + adjetivo + -est.

📖 Clase (60 min)
Introducción y contexto
La semana pasada aprendiste a comparar dos cosas (comparativo: bigger than). El superlativo da un paso más: sirve para destacar una cosa dentro de un grupo de tres o más: "el más grande de todos", "la ciudad más bonita del país", "el mejor restaurante de la zona". Es lo que usamos para hablar de récords, favoritos, extremos y rankings, y aparece constantemente en conversación, publicidad y exámenes. La buena noticia: si dominas el comparativo, el superlativo es casi automático: cambias -er → -est y añades the delante.
Explicación detallada (regla por regla)
1. Adjetivos cortos (1 sílaba) → the + adjetivo + -est.
- tall → the tallest: He is the tallest boy in the class. (Es el chico más alto de la clase.)
- big → the biggest: This is the biggest city in the country.
- cheap → the cheapest: That's the cheapest option.
- old → the oldest: She is the oldest in the family.
2. El artículo the es OBLIGATORIO antes del superlativo.
- ✗ He is tallest in the class. → ✓ He is the tallest in the class.
3. Reglas de ortografía (idénticas a -er, pero con -est):
- Termina en -e → solo -st: nice → the nicest, large → the largest.
- CVC (1 sílaba) → dobla consonante + est: big → the biggest, hot → the hottest, thin → the thinnest.
- Cons. + y → y → i + est: happy → the happiest, easy → the easiest, busy → the busiest.

Pronunciación y notas de uso
- La terminación -est suena "-est" átona: biggest = "bíguest", fastest = "fástest".
- the delante del superlativo suele sonar "de" relajada.
- the best / the worst son tan frecuentes que conviene automatizarlos hoy.
