Día 127 · Comparativos: introducción (-er than)
⏱️ Duración total: ~3 h 15 min — Clase 60 min · Ejercicios 60 min · Reto 60 min · Quiz ~15 min.
1. Adjetivos de UNA sílaba → adjetivo + -er + than.
- Tall → taller: My brother is taller than me. (Mi hermano es más alto que yo.)
- Old → older: This building is older than that one. (Este edificio es más viejo que aquel.)
- Cheap → cheaper: The bus is cheaper than the train.
- Fast → faster: A plane is faster than a car.
- She is tall*er than her sister.* (Es más alta que su hermana.)
- ✗ She is taller her sister. (falta than)
4. Adjetivos irregulares (memorízalos hoy):
| Adjetivo | Comparativo |
|---|---|
| good | better |
| bad | worse |
| far | farther / further |
- My English is better than last year.
- The traffic today is worse than yesterday. (El tráfico hoy es peor que ayer.)

Gramática a fondo
[Elemento 1] + verbo + adjetivo-er + than + [Elemento 2]
| Elemento 1 | Verbo | Comparativo | than | Elemento 2 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Madrid | is | bigger | than | Toledo |
| My phone | is | older | than | yours |
| Today | is | hotter | than | yesterday |
Tabla resumen de formación:
| Tipo de adjetivo | Regla | Ejemplo |
|---|---|---|
| 1 sílaba normal | + er | cheap → cheaper |
| termina en -e | + r | nice → nicer |
| CVC (1 sílaba) | doblar + er | big → bigger |
| termina en cons. + y | y → i + er | happy → happier |
| irregular | forma especial | good → better |
Refuerzo opcional con pronombres: tras than el inglés cuidado usa pronombre sujeto + verbo (than I am), pero en el habla normal se acepta el pronombre objeto: He is taller than me. Para A2, usa than me / than him / than her con tranquilidad.
- ✗ My brother is more tall than me. → ✓ My brother is taller than me. (adjetivo corto: -er, no more)
- ✗ She is tallerer than him. → ✓ She is taller than him. (no se duplica)
- ✗ This is more good than that. → ✓ This is better than that.
- ✗ Madrid is bigger that Toledo. → ✓ Madrid is bigger than Toledo. (es than, no that)
- ✗ He is more old than me. → ✓ He is older than me.
- ✗ It is more big. → ✓ It is bigger.
