📖 Clase (60 min)
Introducción y contexto
Ayer ya negabas to be sin auxiliar (wasn't). I worked → I didn't work (no ✗ didn't worked).
1. La estructura: did not / didn't + verbo BASE.
Sujeto + did not / didn't + verbo (forma base, SIN -ed) + …
- I didn't work yesterday. (No trabajé ayer.) — ✗ didn't worked
- She didn't study. (No estudió.) — ✗ didn't studied
- They didn't arrive late. (No llegaron tarde.) — ✗ didn't arrived
| Afirmativo | Negativo |
|---|---|
| I worked | I didn't work |
| She studied | She didn't study |
| They played | They didn't play |
| He lived there | He didn't live there |
3. Una sola forma para todas las personas. didn't es igual para I/you/he/she/it/we/they:
- I didn't go. / She didn't go. / They didn't go. (no ✗ she didn'ts)
- I went → I didn't go. — He saw → He didn't see. — We had → We didn't have.
5. Uso típico: contrastar / negar / aclarar.
- I didn't watch TV; I read a book. (No vi la tele; leí un libro.)
- We didn't travel last year. (No viajamos el año pasado.)
- She didn't call me. (No me llamó.)
6. Contracción: did not → didn't. En conversación se usa casi siempre la contracción. did not (sin contraer) suena enfático: "I did NOT say that."

Gramática a fondo
- ✓ She didn't go. (pasado en did → verbo base go.)
- ✗ She didn't went. (doble pasado, error.)
- ✗ She didn't goes. (3ª persona, error: ni -s ni nada.)
No mezclar con was/were: to be sigue negándose solo, sin didn't:
- ✗ I didn't was tired. → ✓ I wasn't tired.
- ✓ I didn't sleep well. (otro verbo → didn't + base.)
Tabla resumen de negación en pasado:
| Verbo | Afirmativo | Negativo |
|---|---|---|
| be | I was / they were | I wasn't / they weren't |
| work (reg.) | I worked | I didn't work |
| go (irreg.) | I went | I didn't go |
| have (irreg.) | I had | I didn't have |
- did not (sin contraer) marca énfasis o desmentido fuerte.
- ✗ I didn't worked. → ✓ I didn't work.
- ✗ She didn't studied. → ✓ She didn't study.
- ✗ They didn't went. → ✓ They didn't go.
- ✗ He didn't goes. → ✓ He didn't go.
- ✗ I didn't was at home. → ✓ I wasn't at home.
- ✗ I no worked. / I not worked. → ✓ I didn't work.
- ✗ We didn't have not money. (doble negación) → ✓ We didn't have money. / We had no money.
