🎯 Objetivo del día
- Al terminar podrás negar la existencia de algo: there isn't / there aren't ("no hay").
- Formularás preguntas: Is there...? / Are there...? ("¿Hay...?").
- Responderás con respuestas cortas: Yes, there is / No, there isn't.
- Preguntarás y dirás qué falta en una cocina, una habitación o un lugar.
- Usarás any en negativas y preguntas con plurales/incontables.
📖 Clase (60 min)
Introducción y contexto
Ayer aprendiste a decir que algo existe (there is / there are = "hay"). Hoy completamos la estructura con las dos operaciones que más usarás en la vida real: negar ("no hay leche") y preguntar ("¿hay azúcar?"). Piensa en lo útil que es: cuando vas a cocinar, cuando haces la lista de la compra, cuando alguien te pregunta qué tienes en casa, o cuando describes una foto y dices qué no aparece. Todo esto se construye sobre there is / there are, así que dominar la negación y la pregunta te abre muchísimas conversaciones cotidianas.
La buena noticia: no hay verbos auxiliares nuevos ni reglas raras. La negación se hace añadiendo not (o su contracción) al is/are que ya conoces, y la pregunta simplemente invierte el orden: is/are va delante de there. Es de las estructuras más limpias del inglés.
Explicación detallada (regla por regla)
Regla 1 — Negativo: there is not / there are not.
Añadimos not después de is/are. En la práctica casi siempre se usan las contracciones:

- There isn't a problem. → No hay ningún problema.
- There isn't any milk. → No hay leche.

Regla 2 — Preguntas: Is there...? / Are there...?
Para preguntar, ponemos is/are antes de there:
- Is there a supermarket near here? → ¿Hay un supermercado cerca?
- Is there any bread? → ¿Hay pan?
- Are there any eggs in the fridge? → ¿Hay huevos en la nevera?
- Are there many people? → ¿Hay mucha gente?
Regla 3 — Respuestas cortas.
No repitas toda la frase; responde corto y natural:

❗ Nunca contraigas la respuesta corta afirmativa: se dice Yes, there is (NO "Yes, there's").
Regla 4 — any en negativas y preguntas.
Con plurales e incontables, en negativas y preguntas usamos any (mañana lo veremos a fondo):
- There aren't any apples. → No hay (ninguna) manzana.
- Is there any water? → ¿Hay (algo de) agua?
Con singular contable seguimos usando a/an: Is there a problem?

Pronunciación y notas de uso
- Isn't = "ísnt", dos sílabas rápidas; aren't = "arnt", casi una sílaba (la "r" apenas se nota en inglés británico).
- En Is there...? la entonación sube al final (pregunta de sí/no): Is there ↗ any milk?
- Any se pronuncia "éni", no "ani".

- ✗ There no is bread. → ✓ There isn't any bread. (El not va después del verbo.)
- ✗ Is have a problem? → ✓ Is there a problem?
- ✗ There aren't milk. → ✓ There isn't any milk. (Milk es incontable → isn't.)
- ✗ Are there a chair? → ✓ Is there a chair? (Singular → is.)
- ✗ Yes, there's. (respuesta corta) → ✓ Yes, there is.
- ✗ There don't have eggs. → ✓ There aren't any eggs.
