📖 Clase (60 min)
Introducción y contexto
En la Semana 1 viste my y your. Hoy completas la familia entera: his, her, its, our, their.
Tabla completa
| Pronombre sujeto | Adjetivo posesivo | Español | Ejemplo |
|---|---|---|---|
| I | my | mi(s) | my book |
| you | your | tu(s) / su(s) (usted) | your car |
| he | his | su(s) (de él) | his sister |
| she | her | su(s) (de ella) | her brother |
| it | its | su(s) (de ello/cosa/animal) | its name |
| we | our | nuestro/a(s) | our house |
| you (pl.) | your | vuestro/a(s) / su(s) | your room |
| they | their | su(s) (de ellos/as) | their parents |
- He loves his mother. → Él quiere a su madre. (de él)
- She loves her father.
- my book / my books (mi libro / mis libros) — siempre my.
- her car / her cars — siempre her.
- ✗ mys books / hers car (como adjetivo) → ✓ my books / her car.
Adjetivo posesivo vs. posesivo 's
- This is my mother's bag. = This is her bag. (si "ella" = mi madre)
its vs. it's
¡Trampa clásica!
- its = posesivo (su, de ello): The dog has its ball. (El perro tiene su pelota.)
- it's = it is / it has: It's a dog. (Es un perro.)
Sin apóstrofo = posesivo. Con apóstrofo = contracción.
Preguntar: Whose...?
- Whose book is this? → ¿De quién es este libro? → It's my book. / It's hers. (pronombre, lo verás más adelante)
- Whose parents are they? → They're our parents.
Vocabulario clave
| English | Pronunciación aprox. | Español |

| your | yor | tu(s) / su(s) |
| his | jis | su(s) (de él) |
| her | jer | su(s) (de ella) |
| its | its | su(s) (de ello) |
| our | áuar | nuestro/a(s) |
| their | dher | su(s) (de ellos/as) |
| whose | juus | de quién |
| family | fá-mi-li | familia |
| friend | frend | amigo/a |
| name | néim | nombre |
| address | a-drés | dirección |
| age | éich | edad |
| job | yob | trabajo |
| favourite | féi-vrit | favorito/a |
| best friend | best frend | mejor amigo/a |
| neighbour | néi-bor | vecino/a |
Gramática a fondo
| Sujeto | Posesivo | Frase |
|---|---|---|
| I am... | my | I have my keys. |
| You are... | your | Where is your bag? |
| He is... | his | He likes his job. |
| She is... | her | She loves her family. |
| It is... | its | The cat has its food. |
| We are... | our | This is our house. |
| They are... | their | They have their books. |
Posición: posesivo + (adjetivo) + sustantivo → my big house, her best friend. Nunca con artículo: ✗ the my house → ✓ my house.
Pronunciación y notas de uso
- his → "jis" (suave); her → "jer".
- their → "dher" (igual que there y they're: ¡suenan los tres igual!).
- its → "its"; it's también "its" (se distinguen solo por escrito).
- whose → "juus" (igual que who's = who is, en sonido).
Errores comunes del hispanohablante
✗ He loves her mother (cuando se quiere decir "de él"). → ✓ He loves his mother.
✗ She lives with his parents (de ella). → ✓ She lives with her parents.
✗ mys friends / hers car (como adjetivo). → ✓ my friends / her car.
✗ the dog and it's ball. → ✓ its ball (posesivo, sin apóstrofo).
✗ the my house / a your friend. → ✓ my house / your friend (sin artículo).
✗ Confundir their / there / they're. → ✓ their = posesivo (de ellos).
