Intro: Over the past decade, remote work has become a subject of considerable debate. While some regard it as a liberating innovation, others warn of its hidden costs. This essay will argue that, although remote work offers clear flexibility, its long-term impact on collaboration is largely negative. Body 1 (PEEL): One compelling drawback is the erosion of spontaneous teamwork (Point). When colleagues no longer share a physical space, informal exchanges that often spark innovation tend to disappear (Explanation). Several technology firms, for instance, have reported a decline in creative output since adopting fully remote models (Example). This suggests that flexibility may come at the expense of collective creativity (Link).
